Collecting Bread

Collecting Bread has evolved into a waxy crayola fest.

The base coat is from the paper originals for my college project 8 mm film Hot Box Out Rock. The original film may still exist in the 8mm box, it may still play, there may have been a soundtrack on 1/4" manetic tape, it may still play. someday. Nothing stays the same in the F series, it is an ongoing state of transformation.

This spring (2002) the sparce black and whiteness gave way to the chaos of color outside my windows. Bare trees grew full of green leaves. This Fv grew eye wax.

April 25th 2004 - While I am collecting bread to Get V2 out the door on time this month I am making this Fv live up to it's subtitle as well - Hot Box Out Rock - I am painting with a bic lighter and a spoon. No I haven't become ajunkie, I am melting crayolas and laying the wax on thick. This is some pure, very smelly, color. Later versions of BanjoTime will have smell-o-vision so you'll know what I mean.

So the day continued with more melted wax, then more then I found a wax candle from back in the Queens Road Era. This was a medical procedure that Connie performed on me. She was/is a healer. A very good feature in a girlfriend. This time I did it solo, like verything else in my life these days. My left ear has been a little clogged this month. Can you smell the burning wax in this studio? I wonder if I accidentally dropped a crayon in my ear...

5-4-4 - The Hot Wax just keeps coming. I am engaged in heavy spoon painting on this, the only crayola work in the F series. It's all about heat and flow now. spoon painting will not normally replace brush painting, but in the F series the unlikely is probable.

This Fv has been the only justification for there being a box of 64 drayons in the modern cedar road studio. The quest is to dispose of things and especially categories of the unworking past. Like Crayons.

April 4, 2006 - Hot Box coming UP.
